In my life, I was always the “mama” on the block. Taking care of others and watching over the little kids. As I got older (especially in my mid-teens), coaching was becoming lost to me. I was being shaped by society to be a “young woman” rather than being true to myself. Society's view of me took hold.
When my kids were born, my natural-born coaching came back. I always believed that my kids were in my care to bring out who they were and let them bring their gifts into the world. It brought the coaching back to me with my care for others. I stayed home with them for their young years. I valued that time, and it was right for us, but I always wanted to go back to work when it was right.
While I spent time at home with my kids, I continued searching for the right career. The idea came to help families in their financial life. It felt like a great contribution, and my coaching soul was drawn in. I spent the next 17 years coaching families regarding their personal money habits, family dynamics around money, and wealth building. The coaches and mentors I had in these first few years were invaluable. The last 12 years of that career were spent building and running my own firm. In my own firm, I could help families and individuals my own way and make it more personal. My financial knowledge is brought into my coaching now. I’m often giving a non-biased second opinion or helping with money conflicts in relationships.
I have always been very passionate about health. Especially after 2005, when a thyroid problem and botched medical care had a large impact on my health. My thyroid was irradiated, something I never would have let happen, knowing what I know now. Without question, I put my health in the hands of someone else and didn't do my own due diligence. Our health is ultimately our own responsibility, and I have been taking charge of my own health since. I certified the knowledge at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and began health coaching after retiring from my financial firm.
In 2016, I met my mentor and coach with the “7 Life Lessons and Relationship Repair.” I must go back in time to give you the value I found in this coaching. Around 1997/98, I woke up and had an insight. A big insight. I had repeated and lived family patterns that I swore I wouldn't. I woke up to the realization I did what I had never wanted to do. I vowed that morning to grow and change and not bring that fate into my kids’ life. Coaching for myself, not just for others, began then. I began a very personal journey of growth.
After I met my mentor, we sat down and talked. He acknowledged all the progress I had made, and I had done a lot. Then we talked about where I still needed to grow and where I was blocked. It was life-changing. In that 2 hours, I learned more than I would have in decades on my own. I've never looked back. It sped up the process so fast that I now can, with his blessing, teach it.
That's the power of the right coach. Time is our most valuable gift and I saved decades. All these experiences are brought into my coaching.
My two sons are now grown and beginning their own lives with purpose. My life is now refocused on helping others and you.
Thank you for letting me share. I look forward to talking with you.
